Hey all,

Was out in my garden bout 6:30-7:00 tonight (14th February 2010) and saw an odd light in the sky! It was silent, orange on colour, flickering, and was cruising at a steady speed. It cruised over the top of the house and disappeared. So, I ran for the camera, and stood in the garden just in case another flew over.. Low and behold, about 10 mins later another flew over, and another, probably about 4 went over that I saw before I got cold and headed for the kettle..

So anyway, I called up Bournemouth (UK) Air Traffic Control to enquire, and they told me they had no idea, and that they too had seen orange lights in the sky about a week before?

I got some snaps if ya'll want to check them out (I hope they upload ok). I cropped the best pics and pasted them into one file using Adobe Photoshop. Before anyone dismisses the shapes as being created by camera shake, consider why the smaller points of light (stars) are not "squiggly" either?? Spoooooky!!

Let me know if anyone's seen anything similar, or can shed some light on this?

Regards,

AJ

Good for you AJ, but really those pics don't convince me of much.

Course, I have high threshold of proof. given what me and a couple friends saw. Wiki classifies our experience as a Close Encounter of the Second Kind

So, out of sincere curiosity, is your use of 'believers' meant to be dismissive - or am I merely projecting ?

Interesting going AJ !

These orange squiggles, is this how they looked to the eye? Or is this an exposure of several seconds? ...or?

Linda Howe likes to follow this sort of thing, and does so both professionally and credibly, so you might have a look at her site www.earthfiles.com , and she has a link there as well for getting in touch.

Only other thing I can add is that I have heard, and do believe, though I have never tried it, is that if you want to see a UFO and make acquaintances with its crew, all you have to do is try to initiate contact telepathically and they'll buzz right up to you. Could wink a flashlight at them as well I suppose if they are already in view.

You just need to be prepared for the consequences. ( "Um, ... honey? Could you set a couple extra plates for dinner this evening? .... there's some folks outside... I.... I think they must be from your side of the family..." )

But, to get back to serious, have a look at the earthfiles.com site.

Looks interesting, you should see if any scientist who are specialized in that area can recognise it. It may be a natural phenomenon.

What was the size of the object?

RBM: Yeh its not exactly concrete proof, unfortunately, that was the best I could do and I'm using an old(ish) camera. I agree, its definitely and unidentified flying object, whether its out of this world I'm skeptical, have to see it to believe it ya know? Other than that I guess it could have been the work of the army, drones or something dunno?? It wasn't a plane that's for sure. The term believers.. Yes your projecting, its a humor thing no dismissing intended. I keep an open mind so alien crewed UFO's are still sitting on the fence until proof tells me otherwise.

Montana:Lol,to be honest I'm unsure as to whether it looked like that to the naked eye. It was so bright that it was hard to distinguish any real shape, it was just a light(s) in the sky. It was only when I got back inside and looked at the pics did I see that it was squiggly!! Unfortunately I'm no camera whiz, so I'm not sure what the exposure or shutter speed was, I just had it set to "auto". Thanks for Linda's link, I will definitely investigate this, going to call up the local papers tomorrow and investigate this a bit further too.. I hope I don't get a visit from guys dressed in black suits and shades, or worse - a probe in the night!!

SS:Yes it certainly was interesting, I can tick off UFO from my 'to do before I pip it' list! I couldn't say the size of the object because it was so bright the glare made it look bigger. Because of the glare it looked completely different to the naked eye, than they looked in the pics. The pics seem to have gotten rid of the glare, it almost looks like plasma or something??!! It looked like they were flying pretty low though. Each one that flew over (perhaps one every 10-15 min) had a different course. The direction was the same, but each one was flying (estimate) 100m to the right of where the previous one flew. I saw 4 fly over and I was looking at the sky for about an hour, but as I said, each one moved on a slightly different course, so I imagine more of them flew over before and/or after I got my cuppa tea!

It was strange because I called up Bournemouth airport and asked to be directed through to air traffic control (ATC), when the operator asked what it was pertaining to I told her that I had seen some strange lights in the sky and I wanted to ask ATC if they had anything like this flying tonight. She then asked me if the lights were bright and orange?? I said yes, and she told me that she had seen about eight of these perhaps a week before, and she thought she was crazy. She checked with ATC and the airport security, and they had told her that nothing had been flying that night that fitted her description, so its not the first time this has happened?? Spooky!! She asked for the photo's and she told me she would contact me if she finds out anymore info, so if I hear anything, I'll keep ya posted =)

Regards,

AJ

I believe ya! I seen UFO's 3 times now. I only have a pic of one of those times.
This pic I am in Guilin, China at a park. We asked a stranger to take our picture, she kept pressing the button down and she took about 6 pics of us. The UFO above and to the left was only in the first pic. No one else saw anything with our eyes. It only appeared on film.
Looks like a cylinder with a spiral around it. I thought it might be some kind of satellite. Who knows? They're all over the place these days. I think some type of disclosure is coming soon, least i hope so.

Thanks for the clarification. I'm happy to be wrong in that projection/assumption.

I too am on the fence about UFOs,but if anyone is interested, here's a link with one possible explanation for them. http://www.dapla.org/plasma_aliens.htm With all of the abduction stories out there,I think there must be something "real" going on.I'm open to good explanations.

AJ
Once,as a young teen I saw orange lights zipping around very low in the sky for several minutes. It was a very foggy night. They kind of looked like bright search lights hitting the lower layers of the fog,but without a beam from the ground. I wish I had taken photos then :/

It was good you called up the airport to ask, especially since the woman had seen the same lights, very interesting.

Obviously this is not an (human) aircraft, and it doesn't look like any picture of UFO's I have seen before.

Can you send the unmodified pictures to my e-mail? (see my profile) With your permission I will ask around to see if someone has an idea of what it is. :)

Steve, not to be skeptical, but the only reason I am is because I had a similar experience, but it turned out to be a very small bug that landed on the lense. In my case, I know it was a bug because there were real tiny bugs flying about and one of the pictures looked similar...

I'm wondering if that's the same in your case, because if you look super closely, you can see two antenta type extentions coming out of the top of the object, and I can almost make out a couple of legs too..

Vestal,

Hmmm...perhaps you could be right. That never occured to me. However, in the original, it sure does look like something up in the sky way in the backround. (the lighting and such) But I am no photographer so my eye is untrained about such things.

If you or someone you know have more expertise about this kind of thing i would be will to email you the picture.

Thanks. Steve.

Hi AJ
I can say with almost 99% certainty the things you saw over your house were chinese lanterns,
Did the objects move relatively slowly and did they travel in the same distance as the wind?
The reason i know this is because i nearly crashed my car whilst looking at these things!!!
The experience for me was amazing and i was sure i'd seen an alien ship until i was talking to my brother about the sighting, he fell about laughing when i told him i'd had my car up the kerb trying to see the thing and explained the object i had seen was a chinese lantern which he had actually sent up!!!
These things are white ribbed paper bags with a candle like assembly rigged underneath like a mini hot air balloon, they send out an amazingly bright glow due to the flame reflecting on the paper and can be seen for miles, they appear to shimmer in the night as they move and look like there bobbling around or can seem perfectly still which of course depends on the wind conditions.
you can buy them on ebay ,there about 50p a pop.lol
wayno.

To All,

Just remember that if you think it is cool to set these flying off into the dark, that there may well be no one at the end of the trip where they come down to put out the fire that may be the result.

To All

just to clarify, i don't condone activities such as sending chinese lanterns into the sky and nor do i participate in such activities.
The above post was a response to a genuine question and for informational purposes, not a guide to acting the fool or causing unwanted fires.
As Ted rightly points out these things could be dangerous so please be careful children!!

On a lighter note ...I can honestly claim to of seen a real space ship take off in the dark!!
Unfortunatly it was a big white one with nasa written on the side.
I reckon teds probably seen this many times ,living in florida?
wayne.

Wayno,

I think you're right! I forgot while reading this that Chinese new year fell on Feb 14th this year. They also celebrate what is called "Little New years" about a week before. They probably sent up lanterns on that night as well as part of their traditions.

Good Call.

Steve.
