I don't really know what to think of this, but my mother is extremely unhealthy with a plethora of problems. Her blood pressure medication lately has been causing her blood pressure to drop dangerously low and she has been saying that when she closes her eyes sometimes she can see people and faces, sometimes slip into dreams. She said she would be at work and start falling into a sleep uncontrollably for like a minute or two, and in that time be somewhere in the non physical talking to people or places.

If this is happening at work is there a danger of her hurting herself or someone else.

Surely, she is under a doctor's care ?

She visits the doctor and has an appointment tomorrow.

I know man, I'm am extremely worried for her. I can only do what I can and the rest is up to her. This part of life really sucks.

Idk, I'm losing my mother slowly. Her blood pressure is getting so low, that her consciousness is drifting into other data streams, to use toms jargon. This is not supposed to happen at random like this, it seems to me to be a very bad sign. I do not want to lose her just yet.

Could you go with her to the doctor and make sure you concerns are addressed?

It would seem that she simply needs a lower dose of medication or to change medications. She is not necessarily leaving right away. Are you going with her to the doctor, doing the driving? She should not drive alone with the possibility of dozing at the wheel. It becomes necessary to go with parents to their doctor to make sure that things are not forgotten to be asked about or to follow through on what is ordered properly. To make sure that the doctor is understood clearly. And also to make sure that the doctor understands clearly and is paying full attention. Considering how long I have observed people and things with my eyes closed, that is no sign of leaving soon as I am still here. Nor is it a sign of creeping senility if that is a concern. I still seem to be here and rationally functional with no changes for the worse.

Bette beat me to part of this as I was typing while she posted the suggestion to accompany her.

Ted

She will have her husband drive and accompany her. He is in a better state of mind. I also can access the non physical albeit it takes time and patients, but I'm intentionally letting go to be able to do this, she is doing it involuntarily. It's not that she is accessing these states sporadically, as much as it's a sign that her blood pressure is far too low. She didn't take it today, but its still in her system so we wont know until tomorrow if it will return to an acceptable pressure. Thanks for the replies everyone!

Hi CosmicZombie,
What did your mother find out at the doctor's appointment? Hopefully, all went well.
