Meditation makes my mind emty in normal daytime, this creates a problem, sometimes I can´t come up with words to say to a friend, so my meditation used to train for obe is not good for my social interaction, have anyone else had this problem, how do you find a balance?

You will have to clarify this statement.

I just mean that before I did alot of practice for obe which included meditation every day, this what pretty successful in calming thoughts but the downside
was that when I with friends it caused me to have an emty mind and had a little difficult time coming up with things to talk about. So I´m hesitant to get back into meditation again if I will have the same side effect from meditation if I try the get into practice again.

Hi Challe,

Assuming that there are no chemical issues (sometimes a strong dose of certain kinds of sugar can actually knock out brain function that badly, just for instance), and that it does stem from meditation, maybe you just need to remember to 'come back'. :-)

Good trance books and trance tapes will have "Wake Up!" Commands at the end...with the intent to return you to a refreshed and invigorated state.

So try making a closing part of your meditation something like "Well... time to speed up again, time to WAKE UP!" and then engage in some left-brain exercises that you are familiar with .... add up a couple two digit numbers in your head, or work some multiplication problems on paper ... speed up and engage the idea of engaing in the physical world.

Hope that helps~

Hey Challe77,

One thing I learned from my visit to TMI is the importance of grounding yourself back into PMR after you've done a lot of practice meditating or some other sort of NPMR type practice.

Basically, when you're finished meditating, make sure to spend some time focusing on some physical sensations. Go eat an apple, rub your hand over some carpet, wake barefoot outside, whatever... just "tune back in" to PMR. Otherwise you may find yourself acting quite "spacey".

Did you already tell us about how that went and your impressions?

I am trying to discipline myself to go through the Gateway CDs this week.

All 36..? That would be ambitious! It seems like a lot of users experience an internal resistance to moving ahead... I did too when I first got them. I haven't yet come up with a satisfying hypothesis as to why that is. Something like 'inertia', 'resistance to change by certain parts of the personality' doesn't seem to mark it. And yet maybe that IS what it is, somehow disguised or hidden, and so, unrecognizable as such.

It may well have at bottom an unwillingness to consider and commit to fundamental change.

At any rate, taking the project on was much like a new exercise program .... some resistance at first, but a little more each cycle and on a regular schedule seems to help. But you can't go faster than you can go, and there seems to be enough room to grow in the first 6 tapes to keep anyone busy indefinitely, if their working the implications of their lessons.

Happy travels~

yeah, as I was writing I thought I should have clarified that I was starting this week

after poking around with custom binaural files, and not really getting anywhere, I thought I should make the effort to start going through the CDs and hopefully actually go to TMI in the upcoming year, which is an obvious right of passage for an MBTOE associate (trying that corporate language on rather than the more religious "TOEist" ; - ) ).

Once the TV thing comes out, it may become impossible to get a booking.

If anyone has any information on how the Gateway files relate to Tom's limited information on Binaural, let me know. Like, in the files for Wave 1, do the beats actually use 4.0 hrz or lower? Which Wave actually targets OBE?

I listen to Bob on the tape saying, we are now going to focus 10, but how does saying we are going to focus 10 or 12 actually do anything? Are certain Hrz associated with certain focus levels?

Yes, there are certain hz. They are actually mixes of several. It would be pretty hard to replicate without an oscilloscope and knowledge of how to use it. It wouldn't be unreasonable to say that, in part, what you are paying for there is the years of research that went into developing it.

I can say that across the time of the tape (or file) the frequencies and which dominate change over time.

Just dive in and see!

I think I might have mentioned some things here and there.
It was a very positive growth experience for me. I received my first tangible connection with my guides, and had some "out of mind" experiences. I was on a high for a good week after, until my external environment brought me back down, haha.
