Ted, Roland,
Right on! I agree -- no end in sight, neither theoretical nor practical.
However, the point I was making with that "right or wrong" comment, wasn't because I thought there might be some error, or something wrong with Roland's statement but rather that the "no end in sight" is limited by the nature of our sight.
Ted has said just about everything in his post that can be said about evolving beyond the consciousness system we experience, but in the end we must realize that there are limitations to our knowledge. We can pass beyond those limits with what appears to be reasonable speculation, but we have to not forget that it is still just speculation and, therefore, we can never really know for sure whether or not such speculation is right or wrong. That is the sense in which the "right or wrong" comment was made -- I see how it might have been confusing, it meant simply this: though reasonable, such speculation falls well beyond the limits of our certain knowledge.
