Toms description of consciousness is that it is a information system, A data field, He says consciousness is information. To me that seems accurate but incomplete, My view is, That the stuff that we really are is where the (data) information comes from, Arises from naturally. Data can not perceive data, That data is what gives us awareness and the ability to become more, We use it to become more like nutrition for biology, It grows us, I know we cant know some things in our present state of evolution, But it does seem like to me we can be more precise and accurate in describing the fundamental reality. Read all of this, understand it, and you will see that you have what you are looking for already in Tom's work. You have just not seen this part clearly as yet. http://wiki.my-big-toe.com/index.php/Th ... _Link_Page

I have studied that link that you organized well, And viewed all of Toms videos, I cant seem to find any description of consciousness that seems complete. Maybe you feel comfortable with that abstractness, But for now it seems incomplete to me. Fred searching for truth

Thank you for the link I have not read much of his book lately. Might I ask if you feel comfortable with Toms description of consciousness. Do you think consciousness is more than just information? Maybe Tom does, But I cant find any where he goes much further than that. Fred searching for truth

First, good luck in getting an answer to your question regarding 'incomplete'.

For what it's worth I feel totally comfortable with MBT and fully realize the only 'incomplete' issue is with me. Those are being addressed more effectively using principles garnered here and through MBT.

If not finished understanding this life, then next life.

This sounds like an issue that 30+ years of exploring the larger reality might resolve ;)

I am being playful, but I really do think that the only way to understand "consciousness" (to any degree beyond intelectual musings) is by exploring and studying it first hand. Tom's model (being a completely subjective interpretation of data - though perhaps a pretty darn accurate interpretation) should feel incomplete in some areas; that is unless we have the exact same past histories and experiences as the data that currently equates to "Tom".

So, also use the search function within self. Self is the one thing that you know (to a high degree of certainty) to be conscious. MBT is more like a guidebook than a textbook in this way.

My limited an humble opinion.

I am glad you feel comfortable with MBT, For the most part it correlates with my experiences. I am in no way discrediting Toms ground breaking theory, But like any theory of reality, There are things that must be added to in the future. I am sure he is trying to find more things that he can add. as well as things he can clarify. The only way I see that happening is to ask the questions and search for the answers. As Tom would put it, Watch out for the belief traps. Fred searching for truth

I agree with you, And I agree with Tom saying consciousness is a data system. The only think I am saying is that data is only part of it, Not all of it. That is where my search function leads me. That stuff that the data comes from, Is what I think, Is the fundamental reality we call consciousness. Fred searching for truth

Okay Bette, That stuff called Consciousness perceives and interprets data, That I think is how it becomes aware. I don't think data can perceives and interpret data. I just think the data is a part of consciousness. At this time I guess data field is enough to understand, We can still proceed on our journey without fully understanding what we are. Fast,

You wish to know what consciousness is but you are not seeing the way that it has been described to you. It is somewhat the way that Tom says that you cannot figure out the origin, source, cause of the PMR Big Bang from within PMR as that information lies without PMR in the greater reality. You cannot see 'what is consciousness' from within your own limitations as a PMR participant and your own consciousness. Its origin lies without you, again in the greater reality. If you could understand and interpret the model I referred you to on the Wiki, you could see it. I have explained this before and Tom certainly has many times before. Your consciousness of PMR is what comes to you as a data stream over the RWW from TBC. Your consciousness as contents is that data stream. You do not create it with a physical body and brain but interpret it by using your digital functionality as an IUOC. You interpret it subjectively based upon your past experience and your quality of functioning or QOC as an IUOC. This is the VR nature of it. What comes to you is based upon your interactions with it and the others who are also participating. It is your experience, just not created by your eyes and other senses. It is your thoughts, but must be selected for your attention out of the vast stream of thoughts and choices passing through your digital mind as an IUOC at its fantastically high rate of processing, being just as fast as the rest of the LCS is.

I get that Ted as clear as light, That data stream is what activates our awareness. I am saying there is more to consciousness than data, What it is seems to be us. I know we cant process whats fully going on in the deeper reality with our constrained consciousness here. But logic I think dictates that data is only a part of what we are. You keep saying what is consciousness. I answer you and now you are saying
Quote:
logic I think dictates that data is only a part of what we are
You are a digital mind. You are something capable of experiencing that data stream and interpreting it. You are just not capable of running around and doing the things that you perceive yourself doing within that data stream any more than your VR brain runs around and does things on its own. You are the logical, illogical, rational, irrational digital processor of data. You are the decision maker based upon your interpretations of that data stream. You are the experiencer of your data stream experience. You are the manipulator of the shadow puppet of your VR existence. You are the hand within the 'sheet puppet' that Tom speaks of. You are by your interactions here in this VR of PMR refining and honing your ability to do all of these things. You are tuning your parameters by this interaction, tiny tweak by tiny tweak, as the 'cogs' of your mind become more oiled and easily moving. As the cobwebs and non functionality that is entropy is gradually removed and more of your digital mind made functional, adding its increment of clarity to your QoC.

I like that very colorful description of what we are, I must admit digital mind sounds a lot better than stuff. Maybe one day so to speak, We will be able to get outside of the (stuff) digital mind, And see and perceive what we really are. One more thing I would like to add, Toms scientific theory of reality make near perfect sense. Its just that some things are really hard to get your mind around, I am sure you know what I mean. We functioning as AUM will probable be searching for answers that we will never find. Must be our nature. Fred searching for truth
