This is not so much of a rant but a question. I love the idea. I watched the whole thing on YouTube:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=akgCb85PG-A

He said he can remote view. And remote viewing sounded like of one of the first things he learned how to do. So this should be very easy to provide proof of. So why hasn't he done this? Why should I believe this if he can't provide any proof?

Belief is not a requirement, and there is NO proof that will satisfy you.
There is only evidence and data. Look at the evidence and examine the data. with skepticism and try to keep an open mind.

Why should I believe the the waveform collapses upon measurement?
Why should I believe that matter and energy are the same?
Why believe that entangled pairs of particles exhibit non-local communication? And who could possibly make me believe that its all just information, created by and through, consciousness. And it is consciousness (not matter) that is fundamental?

I no longer need belief or faith, I have experience.

Why should you believe? I think you've missed the point here. Tom does not want you to believe or disbelieve. Rather he wants to consider what he says with open minded scepticism and apply it to your experience base to see whether it has value to you. Believing or disbelieving what Tom says achieves nothing, only changes the way you consider things on an intellectual level. Now, if Tom provided evidence of him remote viewing would it actually make any difference? Would his evidence of his remote viewing instantly give you KNOWING of reality? No, the most it could do is make you believe him, which like I said, achieves nothing.

Tom's proof is not your proof. The only way you are going to truly verify what Tom says for yourself is if you become the experimenter and do some experiments. As Tom likes to say, the proof of the pudding is in the tasting. You see that pudding? Go taste it.

Jacob got the right of it, no need to add anything.

Also, a strange user name "destroyallhumans"?

Hello Destroyallhumans, ( bender from futurama?)
I think the best that 'remote viewers' can do is to show strong correlations between the information content of their subjective experience reports with the 'targets' that are kept separate from the remote viewers to be checked later. I don't know alot about it ,but I think in some designs the 'targets' are even chosen for the viewers,in secret, only after the viewing session has taken place. I believe that this stuff is analyzed statistically to build evidence for the existence of psi.

You really have to read MBT to see how this would work in the context of Tom's model, which involves various data bases and something called the 'psi uncertainty principle.' Ted and others can answer better on this. The philosophy around here is to try for yourself and see.IMO one's beliefs for or against something like psi are self constructs that can filter and define experience.

In my opinion this video series shows the best evidence yet, especially part three.

Here is part three:

No offense to anyone here but this seems very cultish.

He says he can remote view into another room and read a blackboard. If he can do it why isn't he showing people that he can do it? That would go a long way towards his credibility.

For me some evidence is required before I will look into this more. Without some evidence or credibility this is no more believable than any other religion.

Let me clarify something. I am not taking the stance of a dickhead skeptic. But before I invest myself in this I'm going to need a little bit more than "well you just have to experience it yourself".

The best way to convince me that this is how reality actually works is to remote view. So if one of you can remote view into my apartment and tell me something about it I promise to look more into this. If you want a specific challenge, there is something metal sitting under one of my monitors (I have a three monitor system) that is bound by two red zip ties. Can you tell me what it is?

Destroyer,

I don't think that we really care whether you with your expressed attitude go to the trouble to learn anything here or not. No one is going to prove any thing to you. If the Consciousness System has not seen it appropriate to make it clear to you within your life experience that there is more to our reality than commonly meets the eye, then you are not likely ready for such information. If you have been made aware of this in your life, then this is a good place to learn more about the nature of reality than what you can learn elsewhere. Tom has been to the same places and seen the same things that mystics and metaphysicians have since the time of and including the Buddha. He has put this information and experience into the metaphors of science rather than the metaphors of Indian metaphysics of ancient times. If this means nothing to you, then that is not our problem. There is clear evidence that his model of reality describes the cutting edge in many fields of science that are actively being researched now. Science is clearly moving towards the new paradigm that Tom describes. Whether you have any interest is up to you. You have free will. Do not make demands. If you want information and explanation, ask. If you wish to tell us, thanks, but no thanks.

Ted

Nobody asks you to invest yourself in this, and it is a gift. http://books.google.com/books?id=6To090 ... &q&f=false

No one is going to drink the koolaid when the person trying to give it to them is obviously a crack pot.I'm leaving this forum a little sadder for humanity as a whole and feeling completely intellectually unsatisfied.

If any of you need some magic crystals, email me.

I'm afraid that no one offered to provide you with intellectual satisfaction. That is not the purpose of this Bulletin Board. You brought your own intellectual dissatisfaction with you and by your attitudes expressed, apparently deserve it and thoroughly enjoy it.

If you develop a better attitude, please come back and we will be happy to provide you with information.

Ted

Did you really expect people would dance to your tune, and provide you the honoured with "proof" so you would inclined to be convinced. Seriously, no one wants to convince you and make you believe in this, if you believe so, you have not grasped much of what Tom has said.

Stop expecting people to spoon-feed you the truth, you have to personally go "down with it" for anything useful to come out of it, that you are intellectually unsatisfied or satisfied can achieve very little in itself.

Sorry for being blunt, but there is no way around it.

destroyallhumans... If you want some answers then you need to read the trilogy... or at least 'Awakenings'.. if it tweaks your noodle (which it should) then read the next book to learn 'why' and 'what'. Seriously mate... I couldn't put the book down. Reading it will get rid of the 'cult' notions. I think you are misconstruing the 'like-mindedness' of those who resonate with what Tom describes, as a 'cult' thing.

There's no religious connotations attached to My Big TOE... If there were, I guarantee I would be running a mile. :D
