Hi Ted

Yes...I'm not only easily confused, there's a good chance the whole thing will fly over my head like a beautiful soaring eagle that doesn't exist.

MBT isn't as "user friendly" as the videos. I would dare say that the book is geared more for you left brainers and the video for ADD righties like me. However, I'm not letting it stop me from plowing on through. Right now I'm getting ready to read Flatland by Edward Abbot as Tom suggested.

Evolution is a slow process.

Possibly. Maybe this is your placement in cycle:

Punctuated equilibrium (also called punctuated equilibria) is a theory in evolutionary biology which proposes that most species will exhibit little net evolutionary change for most of their geological history, remaining in an extended state called stasis. When significant evolutionary change occurs, the theory proposes that it is generally restricted to rare and geologically rapid events of branching speciation called cladogenesis.

I do not understand. You state this as a quotation. From what are you quoting? What is "Devo"?

Hi Ted,

Sorry...I screwed it all up in my obligatory ADD fashion...it's actually "Are we not men? We are Devo" which comes from the song with that actual title by the rock band Devo.

They were pretty popular in the Eighties...they did that one song "Whip It".

I only threw that in there because their whole message centers around the theory of de-evolution (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Devolution_%28biology%29)...which I don't know anything about.

Anyway, couldn't the idea of not wanting to evolve lead to a scenario of de-evolvement...kind of like the Republican Party? (humor?) And, don't worry...I'm positive that you're smarter than me so this is not a bated inquiry. However, the title of the thread is "I DON'T want to evolve", so it's not a completely off topic question.

Most any reference to a Rock band goes over my head as not something which I know about. Devolution is another conception of evolution based upon an incorrect understanding. It is described in Wikipedia. Too complex to be worth attempting to explain here with my limited understanding of it.
