I recently attended Tom's 2 day Calgary workshop and I am only part way through his book, so pardon me for my ignorance and yes perhaps I am trying to run before I learn how to walk...but I am in a bit of a hurry so I don't have 20 years to experiment. My question probably has been asked before, and if so can someone direct me to a really GOOD answer....but if not I could use some help on this. I have been trying various binaural beats (mostly downloaded from the Android Market) and I am puzzled why there are not just a few simple binaural beats that will help my consciousness get in touch with the super consciousness. There is probably thousands of different binaural beats on the market place but all I want is one simple one (without all the unnecessary cosmetic frills, bells and trinkets) that I can use to help me explore this super consciousness that Tom was talking about. Is it too much to ask for ONE simple binaural beat that works?

Plain ole Simple Dave

Hi Dave.

I would suggest to read the whole trilogy to get you acquainted with the ideas from MBT. In this way you will find your answers. In short you have some expectations about how it should occur. What if I said that you are already there but you are not aware that you are? :)

But perhaps this thread can help you -> http://www.my-big-toe.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=5056 - Binaural Beats as a Meditation tool -- How To Use Them

Dave - a lot of us here have experimented with binaural beats. It isn't one simple track because we are all different and the same thing doesn't work the same way on everyone. The different products that are available differ in how they ramp down, what Hz they go to and how they ramp back up. I have tried probably 10 or more different tracks and some I like a lot more than others. If you have the time and technical ability you can make your own track. Also I like to switch them around so my brain doesn't get so used to one.

One of my favorites is one I cobbled together with some intermittent beeps to keep me from clicking out. http://jetcityorange.com/binaural-beats/

I found a few on Amazon.com

Another one I really like is from the Lovit Center - it is called Breach.

One of the best ones that I have found is the sample that is automatically loaded when you get this program(Which is free by the way.) http://gnaural.sourceforge.net/

The sample starts and about 12hz, slides down to 4hz after a couple minutes, and has spikes back to 12hz quickly at 20 minute marks, to prevent you from falling asleep. It worked very well for me. The best part about this is that you can tweak it to suit you better.

Dave,

Hurrying doesn't get one too far with meditation practice and in my experience will slow progress down. Binaural beats do not let you skip practice; they just help you understand how to practice.

Here are some fairly basic binaural beats that I have used in the past. I made them myself because I wanted something simple:

http://snodart.com/snodpublic/BinauralBeats/
please download and play from your computer, my bandwidth in limited :)

The name of the file represents the tone used and the difference in hertz.

Example: "100_3_8.mp3" has a 100 hertz tone in one ear and a 103.8 hertz tone in the other ear (you will need to use headphones). The result is a 3.8 hertz binaural beat.

Each file contains a mix of the binaural beat tones, the sound of ocean waves, and white noise. All audio fades in very slowly (and out), so you will need to go to the middle of the track to set an appropriate volume level.

At about 2 minutes into each track there is a light, single bass tone. This as a reminder to begin quieting your thoughts and let go of any intelectual chatter.

At around 35 minutes into each track the binaural beat tones fade. At around 36 minutes, there are three tones followed by a simple song played on a bass. These tones are to help bring you back to full waking consciousness. The short song is to give you a few moments to reorient yourself.

I like these two:

The first one is more for sleep (induce lucid dreaming)
The second one is more for meditation

for canned beats that you can fully customize with very little effort, using a visual intuitive interface, the app "Entrainment".

perhaps combine with some OBE4U concepts such as WILD - trying it especially when you wake up in the later night or very early morning.

file uploading, storage and sharing would sure be useful around here! ; - )

at some point in the past I created an off forum open account to share binaural files...lets see if I can find it

...

found it!

at mediafire.com,
username kroeran@yahoo.com
password Gnaural (case sensitive),

I have uploaded a hybrid gnaural file that blends the spike effect with Tom's 3.775+- guidance and a 15 minute tail..feel free to upload your files there as well to share.

I checked that it is still operational, and others have uploaded some files...please feel free to use

I think there is a question regarding whether or not a spike would interrupt an actual OBE? but perhaps that is only relevant if one is at that stage

it would be nice if a binaural savant where to emerge and load some kickass mp3s to the site.
