Could you tell me where the link is from exactly. Then I can fix it or have it fixed. Knowing where it came from is what is needed as the first step to fix it. It is a page I have not seen before. There are others working on the Wiki besides myself. There will be a record where it is linked from as to who created the link so I can then find out what they intended instead of what you got.

Ted

Of course Ted. As soon as I retrace my steps. Sorry to not note it's source page, to begin with. Duh!

I haven't found the initial broken link for which I started this thread but have another issue to note:

Starting on> http://wiki.my-big-toe.com/index.php/Main_Page

Enter search terms 'Spirituality' in the search box, <enter>

Returns this search page> http://wiki.my-big-toe.com/index.php?ti ... lity&go=Go
<click on first return "Synopsis: My Big TOE"

Returns > http://wiki.my-big-toe.com/index.php/Sy ... My_Big_TOE - which is a blank page.

Hang an 'Under Construction' sign on it ;-) ?

The address for the page has a typo, seems it should be:
http://wiki.my-big-toe.com/index.php?Sy ... My_Big_TOE
instead of
http://wiki.my-big-toe.com/index.php/Sy ... My_Big_TOE

This page does not really exist in the Wiki, although part of the Wiki system seems to think it does. Since it is not really in the system, it does not show up and I will not be able to delete it or finish creating it as normal Wiki administration tools can't touch it. If I can't delete it from the control panel end, I will have to get David Mathis to delete it from the server side.

My 'construction sign' suggestion was, in part, based on such 'doesn't yet exist' pages I've seen before. I have gotten into the habit of using the Wiki as a sort of general index for all things MBT, so I have seen such pages frequently.

Here's a dead link, likely cause it's been moved, not because the URL is incorrect:

http://www.digitalphilosophy.org/Home/P ... fault.aspx

It's a hyperlink of the Wiki page:

http://wiki.my-big-toe.com/index.php/Cellular_Automata

Under this name label:

<Dr. Edward Fredkin A New Cosmogony. >

Take Care.

Both links are dead:

"Dr. Edward Fredkin A New Cosmogony.

Dr. Edward Fredkin Finite Nature."

Here are the new links that works: http://64.78.31.152/wp-content/uploads/ ... mogony.pdf , http://64.78.31.152/wp-content/uploads/ ... nature.pdf

There also a few other essays on the main page that are linked: http://www.digitalphilosophy.org/

If this is changed I'd recommend substituting the IP-Adresses in the links for the actual domain.
This (displaying the IP instead of domain name) is a thing with their WordPress (mis)configuration.
The IP of that server could change anytime, the domain name will stay.
The same links as above would thus be:
http://digitalphilosophy.org/wp-content/uploads/2012/08/new_cosmogony.pdf
http://digitalphilosophy.org/wp-content/uploads/2012/08/finite_nature.pdf

S_S,

I suspected both were dead but was in the middle of a particular search so I only confirmed the one. Thanks for picking up the ball for me.

Also, thanks for the updated links, as I've bookmarked them.
