add two more to the list:

Mr. Nobody - deals with how choices create branches to new realities (somewhat like tom's theories).
Enter The Void - an off-the-hook visual tour of the theories presented in The Tibetan Book Of The Dead. oddly enough the film makes sense to perceptive viewers who haven't read TTBOTD, but you will understand it more deeply if you have read the book. WARNING: there is a lot of sexual content that will challenge most people, as well as limit its exposure to a wider audience.

I have revived the old thread to post 2 new shows that can make you smile :)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N3qK6dB79U4 - Touch

Description taken from tv.com - "Created by Tim Kring, Touch involves a widowed father who is troubled by his inability to connect to his mute 11-year-old son. When he discovers his son possesses the gift to see things that no one else can see and the patterns that connect seemingly unrelated events - everything changes. Touch is produced by 20th Century Fox Television, Tailwind Productions and Chernin Entertainment"

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CfPVoiQKFvk - Awake

Description taken from tv.com - "Awake is compelling drama about a police detective who learns he is leading a double life that defies reality. When Detective Michael Britten regains consciousness after his family's car accident, he discovers his wife had died but his teen-aged son has survived. As he tries to put his life back together after the accident, he awakens again in a parallel reality in which his wife is alive but his son is dead. The drama is produced by 20th Century Fox Television, and stars Jason Isaacs, Laura Allen, Steve Harris, Wilmer Valderrama, Dylan Minnette and Cherry Jones. B.D. Wong and Michaela McManus also star as therapists in each respective reality. Kyle Killen and Howard Gordon are executive producers. David Slade also serves as executive producer and directed the pilot written by Killen."

I watched Awake a few nights ago. It is going to be interesting to see where they go with it. I commented to my husband that I wouldn't be surprised if it became a topic of discussion here on the MBT forum.

I have also noticed that there are a lot of extremely popular movies and tv shows which have a premise that takes the viewer out of a materialistic objective PMR reality. Lost and Fringe come to mind. Once Upon A Time and Grimm, both new this season, blend our PMR reality with another layer of reality that isn't apparent on the surface.

"Old school" science fiction typically took the viewer to another planet in our universe or another time in our past or future, leaving our time and our objective reality basically intact. In other words, you could get there (to where ever the story took you) from here (our objective PMR reality). A lot of this new stuff questions the nature of reality itself.
