I've just had to make a post in my PhD level course on Biopsychology about this issue, here let me find it.
Andrea belief serves no purpose other than to limit our ability to even attend to new information that falls outside the belief. I appreciate the reality of having to toe the line with the status quo having too much to lose by upsetting the norms but I am under no such restriction because I am not in danger of losing my job or position by thinking outside of the box in a progressive direction. My grade is the only risk as I am unaffected by what others think of me placing my focus on how I can help several populations being harmed by the status quo. For-profit pharmaceutical companies are often paying for the “research” done on their products and do not present any research that harms their profits but there have been court cases won showing harm from vaccinations (Banks v. Secretary of the Dept. of Health and Human Services, 2007). While in fact I never indicated I was against vaccines but rather am against arbitrary sticking and multiple insults with a very busy schedule without effort to the uniqueness of our infants systems with drugs from for-profit pharmaceutical companies. Once a conspiracy theory has been shown probable or even true it becomes a conspiracy fact when open-minded skepticism is used to allow in information to process with what is known before accepting or rejecting as knowledge.
Yes Cheri you are correct that they get it 180 degrees off sometimes, many times if anyone took the time to check old assumptions that are pretended as facts in much of science. There were studies that found parents of children with autism to be anti-social. That was backwards as it is very hard to be social when you cannot make plans or when you are at an event your child screams (pain/fear) so loud even family shuns you during those years. Many parents of children with autism do find themselves having a larger social circle but it usually takes a two parent variable to allow this to develop (Kayfitz, Gragg, & Orr, 2010). Through specific to my experiences in life choices and location including purposeful distance from family, isolation has been our experience as a family with autism and as a single parent once the twins were three. It could be from being too concerned with other and not wanting to bother others which led to isolation and once he was too old for school it became complete although once more people pick up on this more positive relationship with ASD it will open our reality up to going into public places without being so preoccupied with making sure others aren’t scared (2010). My son is large, can be jerky in movement, loud, and sound really grumpy and that doesn’t go down well in public when society doesn’t understand our children, and they are all of our children. They grow up to be adults that act like that and anyone with them has to be tough as nails to take what civilized people think of them and their family, seemingly educated people. And now there is an additional concern as the automatic reaction from security is to take a person down and ask questions later which also keep us here in this small isolated environment where there is less of this knee-jerk behavior from the local legal force. It also precludes much travel unless we have enough funds to account for anything which may occur such as layovers or other normal travel issues.
The genetic link to Asperger’s is known Cheri yes, and they are the hope since people with Asperger’s do procreate while people with even moderate Autism probably are not going to be doing so. With the special abilities in attending to and processing information that often comes with ASD many that have Asperger’s will be allowed their place in evolution with the inclusion in society of those with Asperger’s. It isn’t easy to be socially dysfunctional but since the engineering profession pays well they manage to catch the attention of a female looking for a money man, and although they must feel unloved they do manage to create more little Asperger’s thinkers to help get us out of the situations in society that “normal” thinking has gotten us into as even Einstein knew when he said as much. Einstein said that the same kind of thinking that created our trouble was not able to get us out of those same trouble, basically.
The rates of Autism is much higher than Breedlove et al (2010) reported at 10 times the level and yes the huge raise in ASD is partially because of a realization that many children were having serious neurological issues as well as all the raise from immigrant working to pick our food being exposed to toxic chemicals (Dietert, Dietert, & DeWitt, 2011). Since my son at 23 years-old has been a client of a the Kern County Region Center in California that is a very agricultural county on the other side of the Sierra Nevada’s I can attest to the rise in families of immigrant farm workers requiring the resources and resources for adult disabled dry up due to this over burdened system. Being multi-lingual is a requirement or rather the way to get the job in these agencies now, and that is common knowledge to anyone knowledgeable about services for the disabled poor as it evolved over the past two decades.
Having a positive relationship with ASD is actually seen as a progressive and pragmatic mind-set to have when considering quality of life issues for a family with autism as Kayfitz, Gragg, and Orr (2010) applied intelligently to the data they processed to conclude. The vaccine issue which again I never said no vaccines is very probably associated with something about the children whose ASD symptoms came from the vaccines they received and I think looking at children who have the gut issues associated with severity of ASD symptoms rather than denying everything is progressive (Adams, et al, 2011; Banks v. Secretary of the Dept. of Health and Human Services, 2007). If the vaccine is the trigger in these children we can find a way to get the effect of vaccines while at the same time NOT triggering the ASD symptoms. I love evidence. My son was born like this, and he has a twin sister so it would seem less likely it was something while I was carrying them. It's too much data, stimuli, coming in and issues with ability with output (communicating what is up), and then the way he metabolizes neurotransmitters effecting his reality. His brain will represent how he processes the data he gets rather than the way his brain is causing his symptoms. Consciousness leads the body follows with Consciousness as the data we all get that we interpret into what we experience as reality. People with the kind of autism my son has that I call Plain Old Vanilla Autism are getting too much data, stimuli that they are suppose to perceive and interpret into their reality. Their behaviors are adaptive often. We'll figure it out together once open and honest communication about all aspects start.
