Forgive me if this has been discussed before. I am wondering if all IUOCs are fundamentally the same? For instance, we have a group of IUOCs in NPMRs and PMRs, say AUM finds a more efficient way to organize how an IUOC is put together, would AUM then instantaneously upgrade all current IUOCs? Are there different "versions" of IUOCs, within the same system or not, has there ever been? Would AUM just leave current IUOCs the same and then create another NPMR/PMR and start to use the new design in a separate place?

AUM does not 'design' and create IUOCs to design as such. Tom has described multiple 'parent' IUOCs contributing aspects of themselves, part of their digital code, towards the creation of new IUOCs. Effectively as the parents in terms of PMR concepts. I don't think that we (Tom) know the details in the sense of new from scratch creations by AUM with no parent models. The idea is not to create a perfect IUOC but for a good starting point of reasonable quality to be developed by its interactions throughout its own history. There is an element of evolutionary forces involved. AUM does not go back and 'retrofit' to a newer and better design. That is left up to evolution. AUM clearly believes in the evolutionary principle and repeats it widely.

I don't remember reading about the parent IUOCs in the books, are they in the trilogy? I am due for another read of the books, it's been awhile. I think I understand more clearly what I was asking now, I keep overlooking that it is not centrally planned from the top down as much or if at all, because of the fact that everything is evolving together rather than AUM lowering it's entropy and then adjusting everything. If that makes sense.

Tom posted about this somewhere on the board if I remember correctly. No time right now to try to search it out.
