How bout it. Did you read that article. I saw it on Yahoo last night. They've found a planet that can sustain life so my guess is it does. Anyone care to venture there at the true speed of light which is C to the 3 (free). I'm just curious. Wonder what kind of physical laws they have. I hope they have fewer ones than we do.

with a mass 3x larger than the Earth, i would say the force of gravity would be 3x greater as well. So no super jumps lol.

I would get more excited about developing intelligent life on Earth rather than discovering life 20 light years away.

I think you're wrong. If the mass is 3x that of hours then the beings are 3x as strong and can jump 3x as high and probably think 3x as fast. that would be different laws at least as I see it.

The nature of a VR is that it does have the same set of rules that govern how it works. The conditions would vary on a far planet but not the set of natural laws which govern how things work and what is possible. A far planet is just that, not a different Virtual Reality. If it were in a different VR, it would not be visible here. Whether you look at this based upon MBT as I have just explained or as being a simple physical reality, this would be the situation regarding this planet. What one might wish is not the controlling factor. Ever heard the old saying, 'if wishes was 'orses then beggars could ride'?

Wishes are wishes, Ted. Not horses like you say. Only an idiot would think that a horse was a wish. If this reality is virtual which I would certainly say it is then the laws are subject to change at the whim of the creator. Lest we not forget.

You did not listen. Nothing was said about horses being wishes. What was pointed out was that the rule set of a VR is the rule set of the whole VR. Yes, that can be changed, but it is not done abruptly and lightly or you would have planets coming apart and disasters all around because for instance, gravity changes with the result that solar systems start coming apart. Wishing that it were simple or the way that we would like it to be is not the way that it works.

No one said that you were, just that you seemed to not be listening when I explained why your first post regarding different laws, the rule set, on this newly discovered planet would be the same as here. If you were paying attention, then why are we having this sequence of posts?My subsequent post was to explain why this statement does not apply and why such abrupt changes cannot occur. I only respond to your posts.

I apologize Ted, I was being cute. I wasn't really arguing with you. I do believe that if you wish upon a Star...really wish that with a little work your dreams really do come true. That's all i was really saying and in this case I was saying that the gravity of the new planet is such that if those people came here they would be 3X more...well, something different than what we are. I think The Big Cheese does break the laws here once in a while. I've seen it., but that this is virtual I have no doubt whatsoever. the consciousness of music proves that to me everyday and so do the messages on license plates (when you speak the language). I see the world differently than many I guess and I've paid the price for it with hospital visits too numerous to bother counting, but I am right and the ones who put me away for getting too excited about my discovery were not wrong to do so I guess, but now that I'm getting fewer drugs my physical/virtual brain is allowing me to see just what this VR is capable of. That and 5 teaspoons of Apple Cider Vinegar a day with honey in a hot or cold tea makes all the difference. I love you Ted, I wasn't trying to be a jack ass I was just excited about the new planet. I think some of us might be from there....I mean what the hell, right?

I don't travel much except on my electric 'mobility' cart. I could not manage it. I understand from Tom that he would be putting a different emphasis on his talk this time with "emphasis on daily life". We will just have to wait until it is ready for posting however. Tom had this talk right after his grandson, Memphis, was operated on so is probably occupied with his family's needs at the moment.
