The producers of the Path: Afterlife DVD, Michael Habernig and April Hannah were interviewed on Virato Live! back in February. Follow the link below and then click on the second link down to go to the interview.

http://www.thepathseries.com/news

Virato asks them which cast member had the biggest impact on them and they both agreed on Tom. They also mentioned they thought they should do a whole DVD on Tom because he had been so interesting. They also mention that they shot over 9 hours of film over a day and a half interviewing him! Well, I don't know if they are still planning on doing it or if either one of them reads these discussion boards but I really hope they do. I would definitely be one of the first to try and buy one and I know many here would do the same. Just something to wet the appetite.

Tom,
Do you know if there are plans on the part of the producers to pursue this?

Ramon

It would be great if they somehow released those 9 hours of interviews or at least a decent portion of it.

I think they are still planning to do the documentary. When, I don't know, but I will find out more about it in Ashville -- they are coming to Ashville to do filming during the workshop. As I recall, it was a pretty productive 9 hours -- lots of good stuff.

That's great to hear. I thought that it must have been very productive since they were so impressed by it. I hope that they carry through with it and it becomes a reality soon, for my own gratification and for the many out there that would benefit from seeing it.

Update: I have been in touch with April, the producer of the Path Series and she informed me that they are still planning on doing the documentary on Tom. They are going to be in Asheville and then also at Tom's London lecture this fall to do more filming. She did say that they are also soon starting work on the 2nd set in the Path series so it might still be another year.

Hi All,
Yes Ramon Mike and I both visit Tom's discussion boards often and I saw your post. It's funny because on my way to work this evening I had a thought that eventually Mike and I should eventually have an unedited...well slightly edited reel of Tom after the more artistic DVD/Documentary is made. There is so much valuable information we caught on tape, amazing conversations, questions asked etc that will need to be out there. I'm sure Mike and I will talk more about this in the future.

Looking forward to NC!!

A.Hannah

We need all 9 hours released.

No editing. Raw. in a special DVD sold on MBT site only.

April,

Thanks for joining in to let us know you were around. I would enjoy seeing all 9 hours too but I understand the need for a teensy tiny bit of editing. Excuse us here. We can be a bit rabid in our devotion to Tom and his work because we understand its value.

See you next weekend.

Ramon

I for one would watch all 9 hours. But I can understand why you would need to edit that and add graphics, charts etc for most people to help keep their attention focused.

One alternative that might be an answer for all us devoted MBT fans of Tom would be to release the 9 hour interviews in audio format. Like a cd or downloadable .mp3 files from the website.

Then maybe a two part double disc dvd for the video with 2 hours on each dvd.

What do you think?

I think these are all good ideas and will share them with Mike. Some editing is needed as we had the camera rolling on a few things that Tom would like to be kept off camera :) Just an FYI, Mike and I will be working on creating DVD's for the Asheville workshop that was just conducted and we are hoping to have it out very shortly.

ps. is there any setting I can check off to see when people reply to posts? I'm a little new at posting here and have to learn the tricks. Had no idea people responded to what I posted. Thanks!

Love and light,
April

Uh oh... sounds like April caught me on film napping at the podium or picking my nose ... trust me any video needs some editing, if only to cut out the blank spots that carry no content. Mike and April are very good at what they do and you will be glad they did whatever it is they do when you see the result -- I know I will.

Releasing just the audio portion (of the 9 hours of talking head video), or at least a fair portion of it, in multiple smaller segments sounds like a good idea. It would build interest in April and Mike's final product, and provide some useful content to those who might be interested. However, the final decision is up to Michael and April. I am thinking of something similar to what was visually done with the Coast to Coast radio interview that turned up on YouTube a week after the interview (My You Tube page and the Path 11 YouTube page would be the perfect venues for posting it -- with, of course, the appropriate credits and build up for the final product included).

April, there was at one time a box to check to get an email when somebody replies to your posts. However, if it still exists, I don't know where.

April and Tom,

I have been researching your question April, about a setting to see when people reply to posts since shortly after you made the post. This is known as 'subscribing' to a thread or to a forum. Here is what the users manual for the bulletin board, referred to for your information as phpBB 3.0, states:
"Subscriptions are forums or individual topics that you have elected to watch for any new posts. Whenever a new post is made inside an area you have subscribed to, an e-mail will be sent you to informing you of the new addition. To create a subscription, visit the forum or topic you would like to subscribe to and click the 'Subscribe' link located at the bottom of the page."
Unfortunately, I can see no such Subscribe link on my screen. I checked in the settings for our BB and the use of subscriptions for both threads and forums is enabled. I also looked at the screen for when you create a post and there is a list of options below the screen where you type in your post that includes a check box for "Notify me when a reply is posted". I never receive such notifications as an e-mail however. When I log in to the BB, what I do see is that all of the icons at the left of the forums on the index page are tinted orange if there are new posts in that forum. This is managed through your 'cookies' on your computer. If this does not happen on your computer, you might relax the policy setting for cookies. I will check further and try to see what is going on and exactly where this Subscribe link is supposed to be. If anyone does regularly subscribe to threads or forums and has further knowledge of this, please let me know. There are a lot of subtleties to the instructions for the bulletin board operation that I have seen. In typical computer fashion, help files are never very helpful. The people who write them know how things work and therefore think that very little information is needed for someone totally unused to their pet project to understand something that is so clear and simple to them.

For the information of anyone interested, the following link will take you to the instruction manual for administrators, moderators and users of this bulletin board. Good luck in finding anything to match exactly with what you are experiencing. I have found that there are subtle interactions between various levels of settings and things are hidden away in locations that are not so obvious. And comments from people who think that they know how the system operates make it clear that it takes a lot of time and effort to become an expert on the bulletin board system. http://www.phpbb.com/support/documentation/3.0/

April,

Go to User Control Panel in the top right corner.

Click on Board Preferences

Edit posting defaults

Notify me upon replies by default - Select yes

When you sign in I think that will tell you about replies or possibly email you. I have never used it so I'm not 100% sure.

The audio from the interviews sounds like a great idea. I wouldn't want too much of their work publicly released if it would cause them to lose sales at a later date though. Another alternative is to do that limitedly on You Tube and then share a fuller version on the board through something like Ubik's Ghost Drive. Anyone can sign up. I have it too. I believe that wouldn't cause any lost sales. You couldn't keep me from buying it even if I saw and heard the whole thing!

Tom, when you pick your nose is your finger important? Or is it just a tool to focus your intent? : ) Inquiring minds want to know!

April: We had the camera rolling on a few things that Tom would like to be kept off camera :)

Was Tom sneaking a Cig, guzzling down some Johnny Walker in between takes???

How bad could it be?

Okay, Okay, We as Rabid MBT'ers will accept some slight editing.
However, we would be willing to pay extra for the super raw footage
but I guess it can be Narrowed down a bit, how about about 8 hours 50 minutes?

OM

Ramon and April,

I looked where you said Ramon and found that I already had this setting set to yes. I do not however receive e-mails for every post made everywhere. When I posted my previous post on this forum, I did set the link below the window where I created the post as I said for "Notify me when a reply is posted". Since then I received an e-mail indicating that a post had been made. But I only received one e-mail while there have been two posts after the one that I made. So setting the indicated link may mean that you only get a notification if there is a new post after the one you made. I also looked in my User Control Panel under manage subscriptions and found that I did have a subscription to that thread. I have not set this box for this posting so we will see, presuming that there are more posts on this thread, whether setting the box to yes on one thread creates a subscription for the whole thread or is it by individual post. An e-mail notice will still not tell you if the posting was in response to your own post as it may be a reply to another posting on the thread.
