I'm betting that you two are finding your fairly regular attempts to harmonize yours' views even less copacetic than the rest of us boardies. So this thread is conceived of as a special workspace just for yous two.

You two are to debate the following question (IF, of course, you care to. The option is created to help yous possibly get past your ongoing impasse) :

Is it MORE altruistic to "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you", to "Do unto others as they have done unto you already, and thereby lower their karmic debt-load", or to "do unto others as they themselves would have done to themselves".

There's no such thing as altruism, what we do to other we do to our self since we are all One. You can't help the system without helping your self, you can't help your self (in non-evil ways) without helping the system. Yin/Yang and all cyclic.

Thanks for the thought Montana, but I still don't know what the problem is, and sure don't want to argue with anyone here at what I like to consider the one safe place I have besides my home where I do spend most of my time per life plan. It takes all kinds, and even though I don't understand Claudio, it okay because he doesn't understand me either. There are parts of me I don't understand, not the end of the world. I'm having enough fun channeling me, I don't want to try the other, and fear I would just be petty.

Personally I'm embarrassed to have attention called to this like this, although I know you meant no harm. This isn't who I am.

It was one of those things that seemed like a good idea at the time. I would enjoy the exercise myself except for a couple of drawbacks (one of which is that it is really hard to sound as intelligent as the other boardies here.... in terms of formal education I am probably along about the fifteenth percentile when it comes to formal education in this group... so... that wouldn't go very far!)

...and you two, especially being seasoned boardies, might be able thereby to set an example for others with an object lesson on how to operatively set aside personal differences and see from another's point of view.

well... that was some of the thinking about the idea, at any rate.

What's up Montana!

I really want to get out of this loop from Bette of love and hatred, she hates me a week, she stops and then again. She sometimes reads a few lines of my posts trying to find a mistake to attack me and satisfy her ego. I don't want to waste time in this board handling other people's egos. I posted something good for her regarding HS, and IUOC, subsets, etc. after she harassed me with PMs, and after that she ignored everything just because I wrote it. There are some of us here to try to learn, to oms. I am different from her in that I don't analyze information based on who wrote it or what my mood is towards that person. I want to focus on the topics and she likes to drive threads towards ego and personal stuff. I think this board is not facebook or other social network. I like humor and fun but not at the expense of interrupting interesting topics all the time.

Claudio one of my main points to you has always been to worry about your own ego. You are the most egotistical b words I have never met. The thing about people that do not follow ego is that they don't care what somebody driven by her/his ego says about him/her. I don't get affected by an attempt of Bette to satisfy her ego by saying something bad about me.

Well, okay... but it probably will work better if yous follow the plan, and channel each other in the debate originally proposed.

(A great way to learn about ego is to get outside one's self... and a good way to do that is to imagine what it is like to be somebody else.)

But this thread IS running a little hot, at the moment, so it might be best to at least leave it be for spell, if Ted doesn't pull it, and when emotions cool have another look.

You might also want to consider that to "do a good deed" and then crow about it is ego speaking; ego yelling LOOK AT ME! LOOK WHAT A GOOD PERSON I AM! I HELPED AT THE AIRPORT! You don't have to keep saying how you went to help at the airport Claudio, ever hear of being humble? jeez
