The London Lecture DVD arrived, today. Very nice job, good video and audio quality. Slides are clear and readable. Again, great lecture! I was not expecting it to be so inexpensive, though. Great deal.

I've just added the Lecture DVD to my cart - when I go to pay it says it is free shipping - although I'm not sure it is free to the United Kingdom - as the site only mentions free shipping within USA. I'm more than prepared to pay for the shipping, especially as the DVD is very reasonably priced for us in the UK with the current exchange rate, but I have no idea how much to add on?

Jane,

The $12.85 two disc set London Lecture DVD ships absolutely free to anywhere on the planet that receives mail. The point here is not so much to earn money as it is to share the information. Enjoy.

Question: How does the DVD differ from the 18-part lecture on YouTube? If at all (besides running continuously, obviously).

Do other people have favorite parts of the lecture? I know I do! Two of my favorite parts are in the first segment. First, Tom remarks that he recognizes a few faces from last night and smilingly characterizes them as "gluttons for punishment". Second is real close to the end of segment 1, when he knocks his watch off the stand in the process of flipping the pages of his notes and he goes "that reminds me to start this" - PRICELESS!

My favorite line in the whole thing might be the part about floating around the ocean in an inner tube and the emphasis Tom puts on the word "big" in the phrase "it's just BIG."

Finally I think the question and answer sections at the end are my favorite parts as well.

Couldn't you just see a lullaby type audio of Tom talking about becoming love, and stuff, to fall to sleep by. He has a good voice too. The DVD is just the 18 parts combined, although if you had a big screen TV I expect the experience might be "different" than viewing it on a computer monitor. I expect when the lectures come to California and I go to them he will be in even higher definition. ;)

I've bought several DVDs but keep passing them before I've actually watched one, maybe there are surprises....

How many of us plan on going to the California workshop(s) in Feb. 2010?
Love
Bette

OMG I am NUTSO for Tom's voice!

I wanted to mention another one of my favorite parts when he talks about his assumptions: "It's not like oh damn, bad physics. It's like, these are necessary assumptions."

I just bought myself the trilogy in hardback and paperback since my softcover edition is now dogeared and marked up with red pen.

I wanted to purchase the DVD of the London Lecture as well so I can watch it with my dad, but it seems there are none available for purchase at this time? I wonder if he ran out...

Are you *trying* to make me jealous, or what? Just kidding, I share your excitement. Less than a month now, right? (I am making this edit on 1/25/10).

Tom, the store doesn't seem to want to sell me one of these DVDs today, did you run out?

Thank you Tom, that's good to know. When I go to the store and click DVD/Video it tells me "There are no products to list in this category." That's why I thought you ran out. It's something of a dead end.

This got edited out?

And the footage of Tom's description of the photon going through the slits and making a wave pattern on the screen was replaced by a slide so we didn't get to see his great hand gestures in the DVD. I'm probably going to end up watching it on YouTube as much as if not more than the DVD. The DVD definitely has a higher quality audio and of course I like the fact that it runs continuously. But the YouTube video is like a comfortable pair of jeans to me now and change can sometimes take adjusting to.

Even though you are not supposed to end a sentence with a preposition.
