I have a lot to say, but just cannot seem to formulate my thoughts at the moment. (Lots to absorb).

I randomly came across Tom's Coast to Coast interview a few weeks ago, ordered the Trilogy almost immediately and, after reading Book 1, Part 1, watched the UK lecture on YouTube yesterday.

I have now read up to and including Chapter 23. My belief systems are falling away rapidly and I have realised that, although moderately intelligent, I actually know very little. I had lots of questions coming to me that have already been answered either in the book (Question? next paragraph.. Answer - Wow!) - or on these boards. The most difficult part for me will be changing my diet!

The good news is: I feel better equipped to deal with those who think I am a little odd(!) and I am looking forward to the wealth of experience to be gained from hereon in via my meditations.

And for this, I give a Big, BIG Thank You to not only (however, especially) Tom, but also to all of you on the forum for sharing your experiences and knowledge of the bigger picture.

THANK YOU!

Goldie: The most difficult part for me will be changing my diet!

Yes, I don't like that idea. And as much as I would like to say I can eat whatever I want and it not affect me, I know from a personal experience that it does. I spent a week in the Rockies eating a vegetarian, mostly raw diet. After the week was over, I was waiting in the airport for my plane to leave when I felt everyone around me felt lifeless. At first I thought I was having a premonition and my plane was going to crash. I didn't know what to do so I got up and walked around the airport. I then noticed everyone, everywhere was lifeless, robotic like. It was really weird! I realized that something was going on with me. It was like I was the only one alive. I came home ate what I usually ate and that feeling went away. I eat alot better now but have never felt that way again. (Haven't given up the sugar.)

Welcome to the boards Goldie296.

Hardest thing for me on the diet is finding quality, and variety of foods. Over eating meat, poor quality of organic selection, and I have a tendency to eat the same thing over and over. However that's my fault for not looking for more varied recipes. On a rare occasions I'll drink a Mt Dew, or other soft drink. The next day it's like I'm having a hangover. The exchange of giving up such things is worth it to me. In the short time there is a noticeable difference, and I have a long long way to reach anything near Tom's habits.

Shin

Thank you both for your replies.

I have little problem with my main meals - they are usually very healthy and fresh and for a few years I've always checked to make sure there is not a high content of additives in any packaged products I buy. I'm not a fan of artificial sweeteners, so there'll be no 'cheating' when I do eventually give up the sugar (and it WILL happen!) I do love chocolate and have sugar in my coffee though - although in the past two weeks I've attempted to cut down on my caffeine intake and halve the sugar content in my drinks. I am also attempting to cut down on the sweet snacking by exchanging the chocolate for nuts and seeds. A long way to go, but I feel I'm on the right track!

Lonnie, your experience at the airport resonated with me. Quite often, I'll look around me and it feels as though everyone is a Sims character (and that's with sugar!)
