I have finished reading a trilogy. Thank you, Tom. Without doubt I will come back to reread it more, than one time. It was not easy reading, and I have to confess - I skipped a few pages for different reasons. Some information I have accepted almost effortlessly. It seems I was waiting to see it. This part has come to me as one more brick in my belief structure or my understanding. I was arguing with these and those parts, but they were no shock to me. And there is the rest of the trilogy. I have to think more or wait, when it will come to me without any effort on my part.

I have watched a London lecture on youtube. In a segment 6 you are talking about information. "At the most fundamental level: Information is bits. At the most fundamental level: bits are digital and binary - 1 or 0, off or on, dot or dash."

Is it correct to explain yes/no, right/wrong, good/bad in the same way? At their most fundamental level they are bits, and they are digital and binary - 1 or 0, off or on, dot or dash? What for one person is 1, the same thing is 0 for another?

Lena,

You have focused on and pointed out THE fundamental problem of reality. Congratulations on your insight. While it is true that the bits, the ones and zeros, can mean all of those things and in fact do mean all of those things and much more in different contexts, the question is always what they mean in any given context. That is the fundamental problem of high entropy rather than minimal entropy. You have a data stream, but what do all of the contents, the ones and zeros, mean? You must have a context in order for the data stream to be understood or interpreted. Is this video and that audio and over here is taste, touch, etc? Using the terminology of modern computrs used for instance to play a CD or DVD, you must have the right codex. You must learn the right contexts in order to communicate. You must put all of the incoming data into the right blanks in the form in order to interpret it. You must send all the data in the right format in order for it to be interpreted correctly where received. If not, as they also say in modern computer speak, Garbage In/Garbage Out!

I'm not joking or exaggerating. This is literally the fundamental problem of all of Ultimate Reality/The One/AUM. That is why there is a fundamental process for reducing entropy that is basic to reality as it exists. That is why we talk so much on these forums about entropy reduction. It may not have come clearly to your attention in your first reading of MBT, but you, I, we all are a collection of ones and zeros, data and processing code. We have taken the branch in the mind/body dichotomy that says that everything that exists, the origin of reality, is consciousness which then generates virtual realities that simulate a physical reality rather than taking the other branch, a physical reality that within which, no one can understand how a mind or consciousness arises from the physical.

That is why some beings in PMR have so many problems. They are receiving the signal, but don't know what to do with it. Not as a conscious problem, but in their being as it exists at fundamental levels. This can happen in so many ways. Not knowing who and what you are versus who and what everyone else is, is one fundamental class of errors. So perhaps you feel that everything revolves around you and what 'you want' or 'you should have'. Not doing the proper sorting out of incoming data at a fundamental level is another class of errors. In mild form, some people experience synesthesia and perhaps sound crosses over to visual or perhaps taste. I think personally that improper decoding or processing of the incoming data stream that makes up our perception of our PMR existence can result in things that are called such names as schizophrenia, autism, depression, etc.

So congratulations on your insight and welcome to what is likely to be the cutting edge in thinking about this kind of problems: The Discussion Forums of the My Big Toe community. This is where we try to ferret out new concepts and details that Tom did not include in MBT. Tom will be the first to agree that he did not put everything in the trilogy nor in fact, trove of information that he is, does he know everything. This is where, with Tom's help and insight, we try to understand what we didn't get the n'th time we read MBT. This is where we work to discover our way into understanding of Ultimate Reality/AUM/The One at some level approaching Tom's knowledge. A sort of graduate school for learning who and what we all are and what might we do with this knowledge. To move from intellectual understanding to functional knowledge at the level of our beings.

Welcome.

Ted Vollers

Jeez Ted, what a great reply -- eloquent and full of meaning. That was really good and absolutely correct. And here I am with only a handful of crumbs by comparison. OH well, my intent is good so here goes anyway --

Lena: Is it correct to explain yes/no, right/wrong, good/bad in the same way? At their most fundamental level they are bits, and they are digital and binary - 1 or 0, off or on, dot or dash? What for one person is 1, the same thing is 0 for another?

Tom: Mostly no, given the way we use those words in PMR. The 1s and 0s are only the fundamental bits of information in binary code -- everything we do or think in PMR is not easily reduced to black and white. However, If we relook from the perspective of the Big Picture in terms of Big Truth, then the answer is mostly Yes. From this perspective, what is right and wrong and good and bad is clear. Right and good lowers the entropy of the system (not just the individual) while wrong and bad raise it. Simple to say but hard if not impossible to calculate objectively in PMR. Subjectively or intuitively is a better way to make that calculation but that process depends on how grown up you are and how much you understand Big Truth.

Thank you, Tom for your reply. I was thinking about the Big Picture. Actually, I was not thinking at all. It just came to my mind from nowhere.

Thank you, Ted. It is a wonderful response. You gave me so much information to think about.
