I couldn't agree more -- 3 hours listening to Tom passes like 3 minutes! In this interview Tom provides such wonderful guidance on optimizing this virtual reality with the intent of growing up....really, really a must see..... 2 thumbs up :-)

Great interview! I am on part two right now where they are talking about how consciousness doesn't render something unless needed. I thought of another way to explain how this is on top of the ways Tom uses to describe it. Another way you could explain this to people that don't have a good grasp on it is how we view light from our PMR perspective; You could use the example of a flashlight beam moving through pitch darkness. When watching everything within our vision on a pitch dark night, shining a flashlight, what we view that falls under the flashlight beam is clear to us, everything outside the beam of light is not clear at all. Take the flashlight beam example and look at it from an outside perspective; Imagine us as the flashlights, the beam as our field of view, and the darkness outside of the beam as the un-rendered parts of reality for a more fluid understanding.

I too, agree that it was an excellent interview. I was particularly struck by Tom's comments towards the end of the interview about the changes he foresees over coming decades. I thought he was particularly clear about how the reluctant acceptance by the physicists of the superiority of the virtual reality model of the universe would force them to wrestle with the meaning of "Other" and they would slowly begin to integrate metaphysics into their Big Toes. Once these "high priests" of western civilization buy into a more holistic model of what is, the rest of humanity or at least those in the developed countries, are likely to begin moving in that direction, too. This is what I got out of the interview, and an encouraging message, it was too (despite the talk of two or three decades of turbulence preceding the turning point.)

I watched a little of that.

It comes in handy flashlight in the dark. Can easily navigate through the flashlight in the dark. They may be examples of the beam. It may be part of the liquid material for understanding reality.
