Deepak Chopra, watch the video if you have 6 minutes to spare ;).

I love him as he is so with it, and 'professionally' respected (meaning I can use him as a scholarly reference in my thesis).

Hi Bette,

Regarding the meteors...

I recall seeing a giant fireball in the sky when I was younger. I can't remember the exact age but I must have been somewhere between 7-10 yrs old. I had just gotten out of the sauna at our cottage and was heading down towards the lake which was maybe 120 feet away. As I approached the lake, I observed a huge fireball directly across the lake from where I stood and it appeared at approx 15 degrees off the horizon. It was very brief but I have a vivid picture of it in my mind. There was a big orange ball of fire with a short tail above it as it flew down quickly and disappeared into the horizon.

I remember thinking "why did I have to be the only one to see this - now nobody will believe me". I mentioned it to the others as they came out to join me but it seemed futile and I wondered if they even believed what I had seen. But I knew it for sure and in a way that's all that really mattered to me at the time...

Hi Carle
That is my age range too, for some interesting experiences, 7 to 10, stuff that no one else was interested in believing if I did say anything. I wonder how much 'adults' miss when not really listening to children?

Immanuel Velikovsy
http://www.varchive.org/

Wikipedia
Quote:
His books use comparative mythology and ancient literary sources (including the Bible) to argue that Earth has suffered catastrophic close-contacts with other planets (principally Venus and Mars) in ancient times. In positioning Velikovsky among catastrophists including Hans Bellamy, Ignatius Donnelly, and Johann Gottlieb Radlof, the British astronomers Victor Clube and Bill Napier noted ". . . Velikovsky is not so much the first of the new catastrophists . . . ; he is the last in a line of traditional catastrophists going back to mediaeval times and probably earlier."[2] Velikovsky argued that electromagnetic effects play an important role in celestial mechanics. He also proposed a revised chronology for ancient Egypt, Greece, Israel and other cultures of the ancient Near East. The revised chronology aimed at explaining the so-called "dark age" of the eastern Mediterranean (ca. 1100 - 750 BCE) and reconciling biblical history with mainstream archeology and Egyptian chronology.

Lena,

I have a copy of his book, Worlds in Collision, if I remember the title correctly, that was my father's. I'll be selling it someday soon as I work my way through downsizing. If there is any market for such any more. I have a whole Rosicrucian library that was my grandfather's, but those books seem to be valued at $1-$3 each. Not particularly valuable information and all speculation and misunderstanding.

Ted,

you are lucky, you are coming from a family with unconventional interests and knowledge.

Yes, this is one of his books. I read only this one. I am not sure, if there is a market for these books.

Lena

That meteor, it seemed like it was burning up, asif it was already in our atmosphere heading for the ground, but for that to have happened you would think there would have been some sort of impact?

If that was the kind of light it produced while still outside in space thats definatley a something, nothing i have ever witnessed on the internet has been quite as flashy as that.

Good find =]
