I figured he needed a thread. In this first selected video I am of the opinion that this has been "faked" in such a way as will be obvious, while still being Alan Watts words, I hope. Alan Watts-Thoughts and Thinking http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jBuBvyP0 ... re=related

Here is Watts on fear: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bdrSyWSr ... re=related

And then in this one, a remix, other than a bit at 1:42 into it, is useful, imo.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PyihpoVK7Fk

Enjoy
Love
Bette

Alan Watts: The nature of consciousness (part 1 of 6) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UhRWYFJ2 ... re=related. He says something deeper to me than the rest already heard somewhere in part 2. ;)

See Alan explains what I'm talking about perfectly. Are we clinging to the idea of consciousness evolution? Are we clinging to the idea of a soul or individuated entity?

Cole,

I would say, expecting no contradiction from Tom, that we have each in our own way 'experienced' the reality of consciousness evolution and the reality of our soul/higher self as individuated entities within the Consciousness System/AUM. I would not accept that we are clinging to these ideas as beliefs but know that they exist by experience and having knowledge of a model of this reality that scientifically and logically fits all the stray pieces together. All of these stray concepts from so many sources that are continually referenced and brought into these forums seem incomplete, no matter what kernel they contain that is real, in comparison. I once thought that many of these authors of concepts was wonderful and really had a (if not the) handle on reality. I still do, but as one more among the blind who has fastened onto some aspect of the whole elephant. I am not saying that Tom has 'The Absolute Total Truth' and certainly not that I have. Just that it is a much more comprehensive model of the 'elephant' than alternatives.

With time and sincere effort, not necessarily superhuman effort either, you and many others visiting or contributing to these forums can internalize a comprehension of the best version of truth that is available today. You can get there from here!

Ted

Alan Watts: The Illusion of Time and the Finality of Death, a Virtual Concurrence
I agree we have a lot invested in survival. We are such stuff as dreams are made of, I concur; consciousness. We do "hoard our dead" rather than becoming fertilizer as per the game plan, I concur. Time is relative, sounds like a good theory, as is time as an illusion. Hindu recognizes the illusion, atheism in the name of God. Does anyone know if Watts succumbed to the physical power/pleasure like Castaneda reportedly did? He was like, the original beatnik, I'd bet. Groovy historical stuff although the present moment being "it" isn't groovy to me as the big secret people keep selling books about that they can vibrate their way to what they want is cute, but it ain't the secret. We do not die, we are nonphysical digital information consciousness having many "present moments" all at the same time. Now that is a secret worth telling, for free. Reincarnation: Life sucks and then you die, and then it sucks again, repeat a virtually infinite amount of times until the sucking stops.
Love
Bette
