My gears have been grinding on this issue for years and my current view of the equation is: Happiness is: the experience of making other people happy. It is a kind of circle-argument. And, the only way to reliably and predictably stay happy is to: Be in personal intimate relationships with other peo...

Thanks for all the responses. Solution currently is to beat the path one step at a time. Maybe this is better as it helps me focus on the indidual steps, and worry less about the overall goal and motivation.

You're right, but you might as well suggest I fly to the moon on my bike. I can't see any options.

You can definitely work on those things professionally in game studios and make a living, but that's an entire career and very different from the motivations you have. If you can simplify your game concept enough so it becomes viable for you to make it yourself, then an app might be the best choice....

The path I thought was materializing in front of me, now seems out of reach. By bad luck of the draw and thin margins. It's possible it wasn't a good path for me, so maybe it's for the better. If there is a better path, I'm trying to figure out why I can't see it and why I clung to this one. It hark...

In Christianity, the metaphor for True Forgiveness is: "cast into the sea of forgetfulness". For a previous event, the "sea of forgetfulness" is completely analogous to a "probability distribution". In the metaphysical/spiritual sense, forgiving and forgetting are two ...

When you see that you are being controlled in a way that is not apparently fair, or more importantly, is draining to you emotionally in a non sustainable way, my suggestion is that you be very honest, verbally, about how that makes you feel... This could go a few ways. Revealing vulnerability to so...

No, you don't need any knowledge to base your choices on Love. That's right ... A bus-driver with his eyes covered in rush hour has exactly the same ability to make good decisions ... hold on what? No. Of course we need knowledge to make decisions. First principles. They don't read, they aren't on ...

Reframing the situation to the victim from "oh woe is me" to "this is interesting". Not gonna happen for a child who's in care of unpredictable and abusive adults. What happens, as I understand, is that the brain develops along a path where it starts to view other human beings a...

Ok, let's step through it.

1) Whether QoC, IUOC, FWAU etc actually exist is irrelevant to the decisions we have to make each day. We have to gather food for real. We can't rely on an abstract higher force to fill our stomachs through meditation or directed intent etc.

Agree?

Psychiatry and medication is a different matter. We're talking about the social environments and events that seem to cause people "damage", and what social and emotional practices that help them recover. Therapy is one such practice. There is "data" on this. All of this is far fr...
