The explanations (and links) above are very good and I have little to add about that experiment except that I am presently producing a set of a half dozen double slit experiments (the "envelop experiment" discussed here is one of them though I have replaced envelopes with flash drives) tha...

Everybody seems to have gotten it right. It is a virtual reality. We have a virtual avatar and a virtual computer with a random number generator that randomly samples a virtual database of virtual pictures -- all sitting in a virtual room somewhere in a virtual universe. An LCS subset in the form of...

Art, To what Ted and Linda have already said, I will add one more concept. This is a probabilistic reality. Everything that can be supported by the PMR rule-set (physics, biology, chemistry, etc.) will in fact happen...but not all with the same probability. That is why most traits, like height for e...

There is no one answer that covers all the possibilities. Many of the first players in the PMR-Earth game had been evolving for a long time in other less productive VRs. When our VR had evolved enough [it initially developed with all interacting characters/entities being NPCs (non player characters)...

Ted's post is right on the money. Times of pivotal change are always associated with social and psychological turbulence. Opportunity and risk often travel together. Focus on the positive, express low entropy intent, have courage... be your best ... and then let the chips fall where they may. Unduly...

Richard, There are no specific transition ramifications attached to suicide. The transition process is individually customized to help each person optimize their future opportunities to evolve the quality of their consciousness. Depression may be purely psychological, but most often it is based on a...

ChronoCross, Ted is correct. Not only is understanding context critical, but also understanding how each of us interprets the same words differently is also critical. As Ted points out, accurate communication of a complex concept by means of a high level presentation is very difficult to achieve. Pe...

Ambiorix, I would add one thing to what Ted said in answer to your question. The probability of every possibility is not calculated and just hanging around in case some player might need that data. Probability distributions are generated as needed. Remember that the LCS has many trillions of cycles ...

Yes, you are correct. The word "extreme" refers to the two extremes (i.e., opposite poles of the consciousness quality spectrum) mentioned in the second sentence of the first paragraph of my answer.

The observations that you and Ted make are right on.
