Interesting. Thanks for sharing. There has also just been released another study about a similar topic. According to the study, the researchers found positive changes in the brain of 14 year olds, when they were exposed to a certain amount of time playing computer games. So we are talking about a re...

This really is an interesting thread. Thanks for starting it, Targobaath. When reading all those test situations here, I thought, well I've had all kinds of dreams, but none I would consider a test like those ones. But since I am keeping a dream journal for some time now and my curiosity nagged me t...

Cant remember who said it but it comes to mind: "I can think of many things that are worth dying for, but not one single thing worth killing for" Ghandi ?(maybe) The closest I found was: “There are many things worth living for, a few things worth dying for, and nothing worth killing for.”...

Hi, I am currently in the process of gathering all kinds of information about the idea that our universe is just a virtual reality. Doing this is a result of listening to Tom's lecture in Malaga. While it didn't strike me as that important when I was reading MBT, because it seemed to me to be just o...

Ramon PS In the Toronto lecture, Tom responds to a question as to whether or not he thinks his theory is truly complete. He admits that he does not think that as new data constantly is pouring in. He remarks that things have come up on the forum that he didn't talk about, particularly one forum mem...

But nonetheless nobody (I guess including AUM) would expect from a lion to become a vegetarian or from a shark to switch to a plankton and algae diet. So in my perception the free will (or decision space) of a lion is reduced to things like "should I sleep in the grass or behind that bush"...

Keep in mind that under the MBT model, all conscious creatures, including animals down to minimal consciousness and size of decision space have free will. It is a necessary ingredient in the creation of consciousness. Ted I do. But as far as I understood Tom in Malaga, free will means the capacity ...

I'm glad the index was helpful to you Tronar. I'm coming to this thread late but I knew when reading your initial post the answer was Kaufman. And you are telling me this NOW??? You could have saved me many hours of fruitless search! No worries, I am just kidding. ;-) And without your effort of cre...

Tronar it's not that the lion doesn't know any better than to kill to eat it is that meat is what it's body/machine has evolved to use as nutrition. A human body's need for the nutrition in beef, IF there is an ACTUAL need for beef, can be covered by consuming hemp seed, pumpkin seed, dates, and ba...

You sound like the rare rational man. Thank you for the compliment, but I'd expect the percentage of rational people to be quite high in this forum. :-) If you manage to work your way through 819 pages of something neither directly appealing to the conservative mainstream scientist nor the touchy-f...

I might buy the PDF through my notebook the next time I am in the US. Nonetheless I don't understand why in the year 2011 there are still sites around restricting their sales to a single country. Especially if the delivery is not an issue since it is a digital good!!! That's actually a good idea to ...

I am looking at the Hippocrates Institute and related sites (like Gabriel Cousens' Tree of Life in Arizona) for some time now. Funny enough at each of my three visits to The Monroe Institute so far, there was at least one person in the group on a raw vegan diet directly inspired by one of those plac...

Before you invest in and order this book, you should read through this thread which I created about Steven Kaufman and his book. It might perhaps tell you whether the book is what you really think that it is. He may have updated his site and it seems to refer to a place from which it might now be d...

I just tried to buy his book as a PDF file from his website http://unifiedreality.com/index.html . But unfortunately he relies on SCRIBD for the sale and that's what I got when I hit the buy button: "Selling documents on Scribd is currently only available to users within the United States. You ...

Are you thinking of holographic universe rather than digital? If so it's probably Michael Talbert you are thinking of. Love Bette You mean Michael Talbot? No, I wasn't looking for him, since he isn't mentioned in MBT. ;-) http://www.newscientist.com/blogs/culturelab/2010/03/the-universe-is-a-quantu...
