Joel - I tried one several years ago. It was installed in a private house, and to help cover the cost, the owner let vetted members of the public use it for a small fee, and on condition that they reported their experience after. My experience was not positive. I never really relaxed properly in it....

Radagast, It would be extremely odd if three such out-of-the-box thinkers agreed in every respect on such a huge topic as the nature and purpose of our reality! That they do differ on some aspects, and as Ted says, quite amicably (even when supporting their view resolutely), is testimony to their de...

Am bumping this again to give a link to a pdf compilation of a long email conversation between John Ringland, Tom Campbell and Brian Whitworth, from November 2013 - April 2014. I have only just stumbled on this, accessed from part of Ringland's website. Some readers may already be familiar with John...

Wouldn't it be in breach of the rule-set for there not to have evolved other civilised life forms in a PMR like this one, where the rule-set has apparently set the potential for (many?) more than one? Or can/would AUM override that? And why would it want to, even if other PMRs are easy enough to st...

I've skimmed this short article and they seem to think that it is reasonably possible for there to have been civilizations not unlike ours. I'll stick with Tom however in that I don't think that it is likely that AUM created more than one in an instance of PMR as it is simply too easy to create PMR...

If possible could I ask Tom this. From a MBT perspective what is humor ? As is why do we laugh, is this a VR thing or does all consciousness within the LCS experience laughter. If so can what a person finds funny reflect there level of entropy ? For example I find the old laurel and hardy films hil...

Yes I get that part of it, but I want to emphasize again that I am purposely examining it from the little picture perspective... the way a typical scientist would see things as just a physical reality. I am emphasizing it this way because I think this may explain why scientists are having a hard ti...

Each person has to come to their own decision on this one, based on their assessment of ability (their own and other's), emotionally, physically and financially, and of the possible impact on others. I was able to do it for my mother (who had dementia) for 12 years, five whilst still working, and th...

Very interesting to see those old pictures of Tom (Ramon and midix). Would have been almost impossible to have recognised him without the captions, though, even allowing for the lack of beard and passage of time. And obviously just a few years before the "long-haired kid physicist", as sel...

There is a newly-updated, simplified Chapter 1 (Jan 2014) http://brianwhitworth.com/BW-VRT1.pdf

His next step in the VR series is to be a chapter on gravity.

Good to see you on the forum again, Ram! And an interesting link - good to see Tom mentioned, as you say. Shows how MBT is getting ever more widely referenced. I wonder if the Erik of the account is a copy of the sort intended to ease grief, or if he is in one of the post-death areas, which Bob M ca...

The simple fact is: not all desires are ego-driven. It's as simple as that and you may think it to be wrong, but it is not. I will say this now and will do so on my death bed. I am very comfortable with my position and it will remain so for the foreseeable future. No need to convince me otherwise. ...

Thank you for the clarification, Ted. I try to be aware of the " I, i " distinction, and it is hard to get the concept inwardly. Many of the examples quoted could be tripping up on it, as per your explanation, and perhaps therefore we should not attempt the assessment, either of ourselves ...

It's better to have things turn out badly from good Intent then have things turn out well from bad Intent. Such as the guy that returns the wallet to someone who dropped it only because other people saw him pick it up. Otherwise he would have kept it. It isn't that he returned the wallet. It is whe...
