I found this video very interesting. I'm a follower of many "singularity types" as they call them in this interview.

While I still think Tom's model is the most useful one we currently have, I still like to keep an open mind and hear what other people have to say who are interested in consciousness. Stuart has some interesting theories on quantum mechanics in the brain and it could explain some metaphysical questions such as out of body. Not saying I totally agree with him but I find it very interesting. Hopefully you guys will too.

The time stamp on your linked video is of September 2013.

In this video he uses the phrase 'figuring out how the brain produces consciousness'.

That's not consistent with MBT and is also inconsistent with the interview link statement that you refer to. Without further studying time stamps, or maybe in spite of studying time stamps, this is inconclusive in determining whether his position is consistent or not with MBT.

I think he hasn't made that jump yet. It's still interesting as part of the neural rule-set possibly.
