Did you get to listen in? If you tried to call in, thank you! Do you know any other radio stations that Tom should go on? Let us know what you think! I thought TC's London lecture was interesting, mentally stimulating, and cogently presented. It is also separately fascinating to hear yet another perspective from the TMI team of psychonauts. But interviews are complex, and frankly, some interviewers are better than others. Some interviewers introduce, in various ways, so much noise into the signal that a person is left with the impression that would-be "interviewers" ought to be tasked with special educational courses and licensed. TC fares as well as he might with this fellow, but had I written a book, I would avoid this "Virato". Specific objectionables here include *) out of the blue reference to Tim Leary and LSD *) "Do you mind if I call you doctor...? ARE you a doctor? ... I guess it doesn't matter ..." ....GAH! *) "If you're stupid, you won't want to read this book. If you're stupid, you won't want to listen to this show." There were several others in the first hour. That kind of static is like fingernails on a chalkboard to me. I'll bet there is a nice handy point-system method of prescreening potential interviewers that some handy grad students could be tasked with. |

Maybe just ask them what their belief system is, to see if they know that much about themselves. I agree that some of the remarks Virato made caused me to wonder about Virato, but then I remember he is working with what he has to work with. He is providing a platform, and has an audience that might have some foundational stuff required for MBT to enter. I was thinking, when listening the other weekend, that Virato and I could probably have about 15 conversations in as many minutes, and possibly not complete one of them. It would be fun though, and some great stuff, little pieces of various puzzles, would fall out, I believe. Love Bette |

I think Virato is in love with the sound of his own voice a little too Much. Some great stuff in the interview though. I really liked the concept of our PMR always being a little rough and rowdy with graduates going out one end and newbies coming in the other. Also, time travel, growing up, the nature of evolution and fringe thinking. I enjoy Tom's interviews on News for the Soul with Nicole more. They seem to have a good radio chemistry together. Steve |
