Thanks for the reference and tips. Interesting Wikipedia Bette. Yikes! Scary model.

I will try some of the peppermint article suggestions. I wouldn't mind them except they chew everything up. Since rats teeth are always growing they have to continually chew on things. They live in areas I store stuff and they are very destructive. I have a pair of barred owls in the neighborhood but they haven't gotten enough of them.

Normally I live with whatever critters inhabit the yard. Right now moles/voles are tunneling the whole back yard. It drives the dogs crazy and they dig to try and find them. Once in awhile an armadillo will dig the yard up. I figure they are just cleaning out the grubs and grab a bag of topsoil to fill in the damage. But it is a big deal here and there are always a lot of people just wanting to kill them.
