Edge: hope you have been having great adventures, collecting lots of data and becoming more efficient

like with anything, most of the time you have to start with where you are...few things get to be built from a blank slate

government, lets talk national democratic governments, are based on districts or ridings, which put forward candidates who face an electoral process which amounts to head butting in front of gang of jeering journalists, and out of this awkward process falls a congressman or member of Parliament.

the prime minister (in Canada, UK and I presume Australia) selects a cabinet of the least mindless of this lot and the president can pick anyone, subject to congressional approval. These mostly unexperienced and often uneducated political heads of departments sit on top of sometimes tens of thousands of permanent "public servants", who have had hundreds of years to perfect the process of bafflegabbing the political class.

These "public servants" are entrepreneurs like everyone else, and make decisions to maximize the power, prestige and budgets of their departments, divisions, and sections...so, most government is this unholy tension between the crude metrics of the political class head butting with the relatively refined and focused metrics of bureaucratic self interest. (please watch "Yes, Minister" for homework)

If anyone wishes to have any impact on this system, you would have to go back to the beginning, which is the district and riding level, and figure out how to use the power of social media to engage and influence, or even take over, that process...riding/association membership controls the executive through riding/association elections, and the executive decides who can stand as the candidate.

Otherwise you are merely a nuisance at best to be managed by the system...mostly this activity is social and mental masterbation who's only impact is to distract the masses from the actual levers of power...in the same way that socialistic views and activities serve to usefully distract the masses from entrepreneurialism.

The danger in this is that you actually succeed, and relative order is replaced by a well intentioned but naive entropic rabble with little experience in governance, which opens the door to something worse replacing the initial group....ie. Stalin in Russia, Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt

Randy, naysayers are only useful in that they show the people creating the change that some things don't change (they'll always be naysayers), but they do go extinct. It's just like the gate keepers, they eventually go away too. Edge is well educated in the issues I would say, why you are also informed, you don't have the mind-set to see beyond the past it seems. It's okay Randy, things change, but you of course don't have to go with it. If you think "naive entropic rabble" isn't as rude as anything, you are again wrong. "Oh, but I said that about Stalin", BS in advance, no apostrophe.
Love
Bette
