We spent 3-5 hours a day meditating with either binaural beats created by Tom
I'm curious... How was Tom's binaural beats? A simple 4hz or something more complex?

Pretty simple. Slightly less than 4 Hz, like 3.85 or something. He had different files for different base frequencies like 500 Hz, 200 Hz, 100 Hz, etc. Some with pink noise, some without. One file sampled a bunch of the different possible base frequencies, while others were more stable.

The variety was to see which we personally liked more to listen to... and then to realize they didn't really matter.

This past week gave me an even greater appreciation of all the early work and experimentation that Tom, Dennis and Bob did. And also for how much of his life Tom has dedicated to continuing this research and passing it on.

Dennis dropped by for several hours on Thursday and answered questions.

The Monroe Institute was very comfortable. Everyone seemed to feel pretty cozy and well taken care of...I know I felt at ease from day one. I had been worried of feeling claustrophobic in the CHEC unit but it has a high ceiling and felt great.

We had Patty as our Monroe facilitator and she was a sweetheart.

We had five hours of binaural meditation a day, counting the two optional sessions...and used different combinations of frequencies. I was amazed at how fast the time went. The meditation periods alternated with follow-up sharing and discussions, meals, and time to take walks or chat.

Speaking of meals...the food was wonderful and plentiful. It was like being on a cruise.

The biggest breakthrough for me was to be able to (finally!) easily reach and sustain Point Consciousness. I have always had a terrible monkey-mind, having inherited hamster-wheeling from both sides of my family.

Because of this, I kind of turtled-in...focusing my attention on practicing PC attainment and maintenance instead of journeying or exploring the LCS as much as some of the others did.

Another breakthough, albeit a sad one, was realizing how little I live at the Being level. I thought I had done better over the last 60 years at lessening the grip my intellectual level had on me. OTOH, now I know how deep the hole is, I can put down the shovel and start putting more effort into climbing out.

Because I under-access my Being level, I need work on forming Intent and non-verbal communication. While I saw other places and people, I was not able to get close enough to interact or communicate with them - yet! ;)

The coolest thing that happened for me was when I was practicing accessing the probable database. I had asked for a picture of the US and it showed up very clear. Having learned we can asked for the format in which the data appears, I began asking for the map to change color and it changed immediately to each color I asked for.

I should have shared more with the group but I'm kind of quiet in that way with work in progress. (That's the only part I'm quiet about - lol) Luckily, many in the group shared a lot. Tom gave us great basic tools to use but encouraged us to develop our own tools and metaphors, which several in the group did and shared what worked for them. I really appreciated that. It gave me a lot to practice with when I got back home.

Hopefully, some of the other people will share their experiences here. A lot of the people didn't know about this forum, so we may have some new peeps showing up. I already miss the people I met and hope to see them again someday.
