How strongly do you all feel emotions in your dreams?
I really thought this was a good question ..
Because I think my answer is double edged :)
For sure I have felt greater joy listening to my favorite song, or eating my favorite foods in a dream ..
But on the other hand some of the negative emotions, like fear or those involving death or near death seem a bit "watered down " as compared to what I might expect if those situations occur in PMR. For instance if you read my anecdote above about my feelings in my shared dream experience with the murder/ execution .. this was certainly the case,.
I could conjecture some low confidence reasons for these things but i prefer to wait for further postings on he subject ( if any)....
I concur. I think it’s because we tend to disassociate from the things we find unpleasant. We only engage to the degree we feel necessary to get what we need or want from the experience. It’s not just negative emotion or experience though, we can also disassociate from positive emotions and experience if we have negative beliefs about their cause.
