Truth certainly has its place. However, Dr. Phil has called some of the guests on his shows "right thinkers." He means that the person has to argue about everything so they can be "right." Telling the "truth" to someone that ends up hurting their feelings is just to satisfy your own ego so you can be right. To be loving is to think about what the other may feel about what you have to say.

Wanting everyone to just take you the way you are even though you are a bull in a china shop is just justification for "right thinking."
