Hello fellow travelers. I am working my way through Tom's second of three books and while I do think it's dense and repetitive in places, it is enlightening overall. As a classic open minded skeptic (and thank you Tom for defining a personality trait that i have long known I carry, but had yet to associate in those exact terms) I have a lot of questions and find the book on the Fringe of believable. This is okay for me in my exploration. I need convincing in nearly all aspects of life so my reaction to this book is slightly above par (no need to feel sorry for my wife, she knew what she signed up for).
I have been working at meditation and have been unsuccessful in OOBE but have seen some trippy visuals, mostly colors, patterns, and waves, in my attempts to separate from PMR. I do not do drugs. My meditation efforts are only assisted by a dark room, and a combination of binaural beats, chants, mantras, deep breathing, calming thoughts, etc.. Currently, i have been at it for about 1-month, with a few months of trying about a year ago, with little to write home about. I am not discouraged, but, as someone who has an ego and can imagine a world where I am the only real thing (this is not how I choose to theorize my exsistence) frustrating moments have led to thoughts about the lack of physical proof, the lack of believable and relatable examples that OOBE experiences actually occur, and frustrations with those who claim to have experienced OOBE are simply perpetuating an improbable postulation because PMR is most effective when perpetuating postulation, perpetually.
In conclusion, I'm happy to be here. This is a hopeful, happy, and for the most part, harmonious group. I am open to your thoughts. I am a respectful and respectable skeptic, but, you don't have to take my word for it as i hope to prove that in future, or, Dr. Tom might point out, I hope to prove it in the next billion to the billion to the billion to the trillion digital reality cell cycles.

Hi, and welcome to the forum.

Tom repeats things over and over in the book because it is a hard theory to understand. And many people have come here thinking they understand the theory fully, when in fact they understand very little. Most of us have read the book several times. This is not a comment on how much you understand as I have no idea of your comprehension.

The colors and sensations you are getting, when you are meditating, are common when you are disconnected from the PMR data stream, and aren't connected to another virtual reality. You can use your Intent at this stage to go exploring, do healing, visit a database, or do other things. You have to be able to maintain this level of meditation for your Intent to be effective.

And be fearless because once you start exploring you will most likely get some fear tests. If you can't pass those then the idea is that you have no business exploring. Because it may cause you to be more fearful in your PMR life. And that is not helpful for your consciousness evolution. It is almost impossible for you to get hurt in any way in NPMR exploration. So face whatever you get with courage.

sometimes i try more sometimes less.

maybe stop listening to music in the car and use that time to practice mindfulness. look for opportunities throughout the day when not working to do this. use bedtime always as a time to practice.

take the long view. if you get thrown into a simulation interact with anything you see. don't try to get away from it. follow the white rabbit, even if it is an evil looking scary white rabbit.

i have had limited remote viewing and NPMR access myself. but much success communicating with the LCS and other entities, getting help, working on myself, healing, asking for synchronicity, etc.

be careful about who you tell about MBT.

may the force be with you.

Hello and welcome OpenMindedskeptic,
Maybee try remote Viewing, that more easy todo. It may take some trys but you should be able to get some evidence, that these stuff really works.
How to do : https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=JKjATPK3kH0

You can google for remote viewing targets and practice : https://intuitivespecialists.com/target-pool/

Take pen and paper and try to get and draw some data about the picture behind the link, I had some awesome hits with this method. But it took me maybe 15 trys until it start working better.
Best regards
Ingo

Hi Josh, welcome to the forum.

For personally experiencing NPMR, you could also practice lucid dreaming. For some people that would be easier to achieve than a OOBE.

You can also try both, as there will be some synergistic effect from approaching it both from meditation while awake, and awareness-expansion during sleep and the time period of transition to and from sleep.
