I am starting to figure out the importance
of scratch cooking and eliminating preservatives
from my diet.
I''ll confirm that my experience of scratch cooking is time consuming, for a start. I'm still working at 66yo, so working it into my schedule is a bit of an issue.
I have one recipe that I scratch cook and the only down side I've found is my appetite for that recipe drops into a hole when it gets hot, and I can't eat it. This whole last fall winter I was rolling, but when the 90's hit in July I had to find something else. And that something has preservatives and all the other things I'm trying to avoid. Shucks. Can't wait for fall !
