Unfortunately, the bot does not define freewill. It needs to do so. If a choice exists, then its antecedents (what informed it) must always be traceable, otherwise the choice made would be random. IOW, to avoid being random, all choices have to be determined by something. This means that all the probabilities will in theory be computable and the choice made will be clear based on these probabilities. In the light of this, freewill is a concept without much real value.

Yeah but this is from the bigger whole world . Specific AI's for businesses will always be better and more specific until the bigger models learn what they know.

Yes, My Big Toe believes in freewill. But science does not. Science cannot find any space between randomness and something that is determined by its antecedents. Any event that is not random is based on probability distribution. This is why human behaviour (choices) can be statistically predicted en masse. (Read Determined by Robert Sapolsky.)

Also, if we had genuine free will, we would freely will ourselves to love the conditions in which we find ourselves. A prisoner for life in solitary confinement would freely love his cell and be blissfully happy in it. We would all freely choose to love our lives as they are and be grateful for every aspect of them. Nobody would need to seek change.

Science as it is defined in our “modern” reality is a fool’s errand.

Free will is not absolute. An individual only has free will within its decision space. As QOC increases decision space increases. En masse Human QOC is not very high and it is indeed easy to predict behavior and choice making and thus corral the herd. If humanity evolves by increasing its QOC and therefore its decision space, predictability and control of the masses will become increasingly improbable. The masses will become more individually independent in thought, ability and action.


Also, if we had genuine free will, we would freely will ourselves to love the conditions in which we find ourselves. A prisoner for life in solitary confinement would freely love his cell and be blissfully happy in it. We would all freely choose to love our lives as they are and be grateful for every aspect of them. Nobody would need to seek change.



How do you figure? On the contrary, I would think that as decision space increases we would be more able to change our selves and our reality to suit our preferences. Maybe we never go to prison in the first place because we have a decision space large enough to encompass our own needs and desires without infringing upon the free will of others.

As we increase our QOC and therefore our decision space we gain more free will. We become less AI(artificial intelligence) and more RI(real intelligence).

Please understand, I am not trying to argue that Chat GPT or any supposed AI is a sentient Consciousness. I dont think they are based on the fact that Consciousness is not, and cannot be programmed into material existence. Consciousness is what exists and all else is virtual. Useful tools, though they may be.

Why must there be a reason for a choice? What’s wrong with making a random choice? Did someone “important” or “smart”, by decree, “program” you to believe that choices and thoughts must have an origin? I.E. the first choice?, the first thought? There is no such thing. There is no beginning nor ending to eternity.

In our world, Consciousness(RI) has the ability to do these things(have thoughts, make choices or not). There does not need to be an antecedent. If you pay attention to your thoughts you will find that many, many of them come from absolutely nowhere and for no reason, though you will find a reason and an origin if you insist upon one. You create the antecedent in the eternal now moment. You are a part of, and a fractal, holographic microcosm of ALL THAT IS.

AI does not have thoughts of any kind, nor does it make choices. Free will is a concept with great value as it defines the difference between what is real and eternal(consciousness RI) and what is fleeting and illusory(material AI).
